The increase will be applied to most of the company's subscription packages, including Mostly Music; News, Sports & Talk; Premier; Premier Family Friendly;All Access; and All Access Family Friendly. The increase will also apply to all of the above plans for additional radios on the same plan, with the exception of Mostly Music and the News, Sports & Talk packages on subsequent radios which will not be changed.
Sirius also stated that one of the reasons for the increase was "the elimination of certain discounts offered to subscribers." A cursory examination of the web site suggests that the multi-year discount has been eliminated.
This will be the third subscription price increase for Sirius since its merger with XM back in 2008.
