Former Arkansas Governor, syndicated radio host and Fox News personality Mike Huckabee is slamming the Obamas for letting their teenage daughters listen to Beyonce, accusing them of having parenting double standards.
While promoting his new book, Huckabee, a 2008 Republican presidential candidate who's been signaling that he might run again in 2016, told People magazine of the president and first lady, "I don't understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything -- how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school . . . and yet they don't see anything that might not be suitable" in Beyonce's lyrics.
The former Baptist pastor also described the singer's choreography as, quote, "best left for the privacy of her bedroom."
In his book, "God, Guns, Grits and Gravy", Huckabee describes Beyonce's lyrics as "obnoxious and toxic mental poison," and accuses her husband, rapper Jay-Z, of, in his words, "exploiting his wife" like a "pimp."
Beyonce sang at President Obama's second inauguration as well as at Michelle Obama's 50th birthday at the White House, and the president thanked her and Jay-Z for their friendship at a 2012 fundraiser, saying, "Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls."
