“We figured the most interesting way to do it was to be
killed off by zombies,” Grosvent said told Mark Bialczak at Syracuse.com Wednesday,
describing their final on-air scene Tuesday morning.
Afterward, the pair went to the office of Cumulus Syracuse
general manager Shane Bogardus with the news that they’ve resigned.
Scott, who also had served as the 95X program director, and
Grosvent had been the morning team at the Cumulus-owned station for two years.
Grosvent said the two are exploring other employment
opportunities. Scott, who comes from the Midwest ,
is looking there, Grosvent said. Grosvent, who also is a comic writer who’s
hosted a weekly Wednesday night improvisational “Walk Up Radio Show” at Wise
Guys Comedy Club in Syracuse ,
said that’s on hiatus, as usual this time of the year.
Bogardus and Grosvent both said the resignations are not a
stunt to promote Cumulus’ O’Zombie Crawl 2012.
