Fox News Hires Karoline Leavitt As Contributor
Karoline Leavitt, the former White House press secretary, will join Fox News next month as an on-air contributor, the network said Monday.
Leavitt, 29, is expected to appear across both news and opinion programming beginning Nov. 1. She left the White House in August after serving as President Trump’s chief spokeswoman and the youngest person ever appointed press secretary.
She went on maternity leave in May after the birth of her second child and later said she was stepping down to spend more time with her young children. At the time, she pledged to “remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party.”
At the White House lectern, Leavitt was known for an unflinching defense of the president, frequent criticism of mainstream outlets, and sharp exchanges with reporters. Trump praised her delivery, saying her lips “move like a ‘machine gun.’” Her place in his inner circle also gave her direct access to information from the president that she could share with journalists.
Fox News maintains close ties with Trump. Prime-time hosts such as Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters regularly defend him, Lara Trump hosts a weekly show, and cabinet secretaries often appear on the network. The relationship is strained at times. Trump complained on social media last week that Fox airs “a completely negative narrative” and said “MAGA, and REAL Patriots, will never like Fox!” On Sunday he criticized “Fox & Friends” and objected to the network taking his ally Maria Bartiromo off the air.
