Artificial intelligence will dominate discussions at NAB Show 2026, the broadcast industry's premier event, as organizers unveil programming heavily focused on AI's transformative impact on radio operations, programming, and monetization for AM/FM stations—especially in smaller and medium markets.
Titled around how artificial intelligence is reshaping station operations in markets 51 and beyond, the session will be moderated by Julie Koehn, President of Lenawee Broadcasting Company and Southeast Michigan Media. Panelists include Sun Sachs, SVP of Digital Products at Townsquare Media, and David Oxenford, media attorney at Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP.
Following the AI-focused opener, the forum transitions to peer-driven roundtables tailored specifically for smaller-market operators.
These interactive sessions will cover key areas such as programming development, digital sales strategies, audience growth, and operational strategies—providing practical, real-world insights for stations facing similar challenges.
In the larger Broadcast Management and Monetization Conference, held throughout the event in NAB Show’s North Hall, AI remains a central theme. A key session led by John Wordock of WTOP will explore the evolving roles of video, podcasting, and artificial intelligence in modern broadcasting. Another highlight includes the presentation of findings from the 14th annual digital benchmarking report by Borrell Associates and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB). Featured speakers are Gordon Borrell, CEO of Borrell Associates; Mike Hulvey, President and CEO of RAB; and Dustin Wilson of Marketron.
Additionally, Mike McVay, President of McVay Media, will lead a panel titled “Improving the Listener Experience.” It will examine how stations can adapt to changing audience expectations through sharper programming strategies and more intelligent use of data.
NAB Show 2026 takes place April 18-22, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with conferences and workshops running the full span and the show floor/exhibits open April 19-22.
