FOX News Channel (FNC) led all broadcast networks in primetime during the week of August 11 with 2.3 million viewers, leading CBS (2 million viewers), NBC (1.9 million viewers) and ABC (1.9 million viewers), continuing its run as the summer’s most-watched television network.
In Monday - Sunday total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.5 million viewers and 164,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all of cable. FNC commanded 65% of the primetime and 64% of the total day cable news audience and delivered 97 of the top 100 weekly cable news telecasts.
On Friday, during live coverage from Alaska during the Trump-Putin Summit Special Report with Bret Baier commanded 3.5 million viewers and Hannity secured 3.3 million viewers in which each host presented an interview with President Trump.
In weekday primetime, FNC has been the most-watched network in primetime since Memorial Day Weekend and the start of Summer on June 20. Since Memorial Day FNC has averaged 2.9 million viewers in weekday primetime surpassing ABC (2.6 million viewers), NBC (2.5 million viewers) and CBS (2.1 million viewers). Since June 20, FNC has drawn 2.8 million viewers in weekday primetime leading NBC (2.5 million viewers), ABC (2 million viewers) and CBS (2 million viewers).
During the week of August 11: The Five averaged 3.5 million viewers and 342,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news in all categories. Notably, The Five surpassed all airings of Big Brother on CBS for the week. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.6 million viewers and 268,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.7 million viewers and 298,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.7 million viewers and 263,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.5 million viewers and 215,000 in the 25-54 demo.
At 10 PM/ET, Gutfeld! commanded 2.9 million viewers and 337,000 in the 25-54 demo leading all broadcast late-night shows with viewers leading NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.1 million viewers; 229,000 in the 25-54 demo) and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (897,000 viewers; 156,000 in the 25-54 demo).
FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 1,919,000 viewers), The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,840,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,784,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,768,000 viewers), The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,694,000 viewers) and America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,678,000 viewers) all led NBC’s Today Third Hour (1,655,000 viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1,136,000 viewers).
On Saturday: FOX News Live (Saturday, 10 AM - 2 PM/ET) drew 1.3 million viewers and 138,000 in the 25-54 demo leading cable news in both categories. The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 6-8 PM/ET) followed with 1,277,000 viewers. FOX News Saturday Night with Jimmy Failla delivered 1,226,000 viewers and 10 PM/ET.
On Sunday: Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday 10 AM/ET) was the top show of the day with 1.7 million viewers and 169,000 in the 25-54 demo. Trey Gowdy’s Sunday Night in America (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) was the most-watched show in primetime with 1.5 million viewers and 129,000 in the 25-54 demo. Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) followed with 1.4 million viewers.

- “GMA” was up over the previous week in Adults 25-54 (+2% – 444,000 vs. 434,000) and was the only morning newscast to grow week to week in the key Adult news demo.
- “GMA” improved on the same week last year in Adults 25-54 (-5% – 444,000 vs. 422,000) and Adults 18-49 (+12% – 290,000 vs. 260,000), standing as the only morning newscast to grow year to year in both key Adult demos.
- “GMA” cut its gaps with “Today” week to week in Adults 25-54 (-13% – 103,000 vs. 119,000).
