Tucker Carlson Claims Fox News Made Him Fat

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently claimed that his time at the network contributed to his weight gain. Speaking with ex-colleague Clayton Morris on his YouTube show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, on June 23, 2025, Carlson discussed the challenges of working at Fox News, a network both men have criticized for its coverage of U.S. involvement in Israel’s conflict with Iran.

“I just got fat,” Carlson admitted. “It’s incredibly hard physically. It was the hardest job I ever had.”

Carlson, a former primetime ratings leader, was fired from Fox News in April 2023, around the time the network settled a $787 million defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems. The suit accused Fox of spreading false claims about Dominion’s voting equipment during the 2020 election. Text messages uncovered during the case revealed Carlson’s critical views of the network and President Trump, as well as racially charged comments. Despite this, the 56-year-old now claims to support Trump.

Carlson also alleged that senior Fox News figures offered to back him if he ran against Trump in 2024, an offer he declined. He claimed many at the pro-Trump network privately dislike the president but publicly support him. Until this conversation with Morris, Carlson had largely avoided discussing his departure from Fox News.
