YouTube will stream an NFL game worldwide for free, marking a major step in its growing partnership with the league.
The Week 1 international game, set for Friday, September 5, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil, will feature the Los Angeles Chargers against the Kansas City Chiefs. The matchup will be the first NFL game to stream exclusively on YouTube and YouTube TV, available globally at no cost.
The game builds on YouTube’s role as the home of NFL Sunday Ticket, the premium out-of-market package. With over one billion users, YouTube’s unmatched scale and reach align with the NFL’s focus on expanding its audience through streaming platforms. While the NFL has long partnered with traditional broadcasters like ESPN, NBC, CBS, and Fox, its deals with Amazon Prime Video, Netflix (for Christmas Day games), and now YouTube reflect a shift toward digital platforms to engage younger fans and global audiences.
Per NFL policy, the Brazil game will also air on broadcast TV in the local markets of the competing teams but will be unavailable in select countries, including Canada. YouTube has further deepened its NFL ties with a multiyear deal to stream the annual Super Bowl Flag Football game, featuring creators, celebrities, and artists, alongside additional international flag football events.
“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with YouTube to deliver the Brazil game to a global audience,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution. “With YouTube’s vast reach and our shared history through Sunday Ticket, we’re excited for Week 1 in São Paulo.”
