93.3 WMMR-FM is proud to announce the Preston & Steve Camp Out For Hunger yielded record-setting food donations. The event raised over 2.6 million pounds of food and $200,000 cash to benefit needy individuals and families residing throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

Proceeds directly benefit Philabundance, Delaware Valley’s largest hunger-relief organization which acquires, rescues and distributes food to help feed those in need, while also advocating for policies that increase food access.

From 6am on Monday, December 2nd through 11am on Friday, December 6, 2019, legendary morning personalities Preston and Steve lived in the parking lot of Xfinity Live!, located within the Wells Fargo Center Sports Complex, in South Philadelphia in an effort to collect food donations from listeners and businesses throughout the tri-state area.

The award-winning radio duo started their food drive back in 1998 after recognizing that hunger was a real issue in the Philadelphia area. Their initial goal was to raise 1 ton of food.

Dozens of local and national celebrities, performers, and athletes were on hand this year to lend their support, including Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, PA Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Philadelphia Phillies new manager Joe Girardi, former Philadelphia Eagles player Todd Herremans Philadelphia Flyers alumnus Riley Cote, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Michael Barkann, James Van Riemsdyk, Kevin Hayes, and Joel Farabee from the Philadelphia Flyers, each of the ‘City 6’ College Men’s Basketball Coaches, comedian Adam Ferrara, TV game show icon, Marc Summers, and many more.

Donors were treated to free coffee in the morning, along with breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day. There were also plenty of prizes and incentives as well as multiple free events at night, including the official Preston & Steve Calendar Release Party, a free comedy night, and fun watch parties for Sixers and Flyers games.

Subaru of America’s largest donation from a business, 736,290 pounds of food, earned them a live Preston & Steve broadcast from their headquarters in Camden, NJ.
