Senior Management Team Set for 'New Fox'


A day after news broke that Marianne Gambelli would be heading up ad sales for the part of 21st Century Fox that will be spun off ahead of its $71.3 billion merger with Disney—tentatively known as “New Fox”—the company announced its leadership team for the new company.

Lachlan Murdoch, who will serve as chairman and CEO of New Fox—which will include Fox Broadcasting, Fox Sports 1, Fox News and Fox Business Network—unveiled the team today.

As it revealed the new executive lineup, Fox confirmed that Gambelli, who is currently president of ad sales for Fox News and Fox Business Network, will become president of ad sales for Fox.

Joe Marchese, now president of advertising revenue for Fox Networks Group, is expected to depart the company after the Disney deal closes, but will continue in his role until then.

Eric Shanks, currently president, COO and executive producer of Fox Sports, has been named CEO of Fox Sports. Mike Biard, who was president of distribution for Fox Networks Group, will be promoted to president of operations and distribution for Fox. Paul Cheesbrough, currently CTO, will add head of direct to consumer platforms to his title. And Steve Tomsic, who now serves as evp, finance and deputy CFO, will be Fox’s CFO.

All promotions will be effective once the Disney deal closes and New Fox is spun off.
