Syracuse Radio: Kathy Rowe Talks About Her Y94FM Departure

Kathy Rowe
Kathy Rowe publicly addressed her departure from Y94FM for the first time over the weekend.

"Hi friends! You blew me away with all the support & good wishes. Thanks to everyone who reached out and to all my listeners, many who became friends," she wrote on Facebook Sunday.

"I look forward to a lack of productivity and not dissing Mondays. And I suspect I'll see you out there sooner rather than later."

According to syracuse.com, Rowe's name was removed from the WYYY 94.5 FM website last Tuesday, hours after her last morning show on the Central New York radio station. She had been an on-air personality at Y94 since 1982, when the station was known as "94 Rock," and served as program director for more than a decade.

Rick Yacobush, market president for Y94FM owner iHeartMedia, confirmed she is "no longer with" the station, but declined further comment. Both he and Rowe have not said if she quit, was fired or had a mutual parting of ways.
