NY Times Top U-S News Site During June 2025


In June, many major US news websites saw growth, per Similarweb data. Of the top 50 by visits, 34 had month-on-month increases (up from 15 in May), and 29 saw year-on-year growth (up from 14).

The Press-Gazette UK reports The Times of Israel led monthly gains, with visits nearly doubling to 23.7 million (up 98%) and a 55% annual increase, ranking fourth for yearly growth. The Arena Group’s Men’s Journal saw the largest year-on-year surge, up 309% to 25.1 million visits, followed by Substack, up 57% to 73.9 million.

Among the top ten sites, four (New York Times, People, BBC, Google News) grew year-on-year, and seven rose from May. The New York Times (up 9% annually to 474.5 million) and CNN (up 14% monthly to 356.7 million) saw the biggest gains. MSN had the largest drop among the top ten, down 28% year-on-year and 8% monthly to 168 million visits.

The sites in the list are based on Similarweb’s classification of news and media publishers, although Press Gazette refines the list to exclude some sites with a less journalistic focus.
