Actress Christina Applegate was hospitalized for a severe double kidney infection, requiring intravenous antibiotics, she shared on Tuesday.
The “Married…With Children” star first felt ill while visiting family in Europe, as discussed on her podcast “MeSsy,” co-hosted with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has multiple sclerosis. Broadcasting from the hospital, Applegate recounted deciding to head straight to the hospital upon landing from her trip.
Applegate, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, humorously referred to the hospital as her “pied-à-terre” due to her frequent visits.
Typically, she explained on “MeSsy,” doctors prescribe medication and discharge her, but this time she insisted on staying. “I’m not leaving until I get answers,” she told hospital staff, demanding comprehensive testing, including tests they hadn’t considered.
Initially, doctors suspected a urinary tract infection and, during a prior visit, even questioned her hygiene practices, confirming she wiped correctly.
