ESPN Hires TikTok Star Katie Feeney

ESPN adds Katie Feeney

ESPN has hired 22-year-old TikTok star Katie Feeney, who boasts over 14 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube, as a sports and lifestyle content creator to enhance its NFL and college football coverage for the 2025 season.

The move aims to attract younger audiences, particularly Gen Z and millennials, by leveraging Feeney’s massive social media presence and her ability to blend sports, fashion, and culture in a first-person, lifestyle-driven approach.

Feeney will lead a refreshed SportsCenter on Snapchat, a platform with over 9 million subscribers, creating daily content tailored for social media. She will produce vertical short-form videos for ESPN’s revamped app, set to launch in fall 2025.

She will also make weekly appearances on major ESPN shows, including Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, and College GameDay, offering behind-the-scenes content and fan engagement.

Feeney has 14M Followers
A Maryland native and recent Penn State graduate (May 2025) with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Feeney rose to fame during the pandemic through dance and unboxing videos on TikTok, starting in 2015 when it was Musical.ly.

She earned over $1 million via Snapchat’s Spotlight program before college and has worked with brands like Dormify and Gatorade, notably collaborating with Caitlin Clark for a football drill contest.

Feeney was the first-ever social media correspondent for the Washington Commanders in 2022, covering events like the NFL Draft and training camp. She also served as a White House social media correspondent for AKSM Media, covering events like holiday decorations, and was YouTube’s correspondent for Super Bowl LVI.

The hire reflects ESPN’s shift toward digital-first, social-native storytelling. ESPN’s Senior Vice President of Digital, Social, and Streaming Content, Kaitee Daley, praised Feeney’s ability to connect with fans through “access, personality, and Gen-Z culture.”
