KOA 850 AM formally announced Sunday that it is now simultaneously broadcasting KOA programming on the FM band at 94.1.
KOA host Dave Logan made the announcement during the station's broadcast of the Denver Broncos pre-game show, according to the Denver
Business Journal.
The station, owned by iHeartMedia, will retain its AM signal, which is one of the most powerful in the nation and is heard across a broad area.

For now, KOA's higher-fidelity FM signal will be limited to the Denver area, but the station plans to expand its FM coverage to the Boulder area in coming weeks on K231AA 94.1 FM, which is currently relayining Top40 KPTT 95.7 FM The Party.

"We’re excited to extend KOA NewsRadio's reach to 94.1 FM," said Pat Connor, market president of iHeartMedia Denver. “This enhancement will allow KOA NewsRadio to reach more people and better serve our listeners, partners and clients."

Recently the 94.1 FM signal has been used by "Smokin' 94.1," a marijuana-themed station. Previously the frequency was used by KDCO-FM/Mile High Sports Radio.
