Tom Joyner |
The 9,764-square-foot Joyner mansion sits on a 26,000-square-foot lot and features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a one-half-bath. The house also has a pool, a Jacuzzi, and a patio made of marble.
The house was listed earlier this year with an asking price of $26 million. A trust headed by a certain Jan A. Marks now has the rights to the property.
The 65-year-old Joyner rose to fame as a radio DJ. His career began with his involvement in college radio, and he soon worked for a number of radio statuons in the South and Midwest. In 1978, Joyner worked for WJPC AM, a radio station owned by John H. Johnson, owner of African-American themed publications Jet and Ebony.
By the 1980s, Joyner became a popular radio personality that he hosted two separate radio shows back in 1985. He had a morning show at KKDA-FM (K104) in Dallas and then flew to Chicago right after to host an an afternoon show at WGCI-FM. For this, Joyner earned the nicknames "The Fly Jock" and "The Hardest Working Man in Radio."
My uncle built this home at 469 Ocean Blvd back in '09 .
