Clear Channel wants to dive even deeper into the political
game. The company has hired seasoned political operatives Will Leaverton and
Brice Kornegay. Both have been named vice presidents of political strategy.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, Leaverton and
Kornegay will report directly to Nathan Daschle, executive vice president of
political strategy for Clear Channel, and will be based out of Washington , D.C.
The new hires will develop and execute “Go To Market”
strategies for various outlets in the political marketplace, utilizing Clear
Channel Media and Entertainment’s local and national on air, digital, mobile,
live event and outdoor assets.
Clear Channel established its political strategy team back
in June. The relatively new company initiative focuses on political and issue
advertisers and agencies, giving those clients access to Clear Channel’s 840
radio stations, its iHeartRadio digital platform and a network of more than
125,000 outdoor displays.
