Twin Cities Radio: WCCO Raises $330K+ for Union Gospel Mission

Audacy raised over $333,000 to provide meals and care for those in need through 830 WCCO’s 20th annual “Hunger Mission Radiothon” in Minneapolis. The amount raised during this year’s event, which benefits Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities (UGMTC), brought the overall fundraising total to over $4.1 million since 2003.

“This is yet another great example of how live and local radio can truly help change lives,” said Jeff Gonsales, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Minneapolis.” We’re so proud of our team in helping share these inspiring stories, as well as our amazing fans for their incredible generosity in giving.”

“We are grateful for the 20-year collaboration with 830 WCCO,” said Pam Axberg, Chief Executive Officer, UGM. “This event amplifies awareness of hunger and homelessness in our community and how Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities fills this need and transforms lives."

“Hunger Mission Radiothon” was broadcast live from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CT from the Mall of America – the first time since 2019. Throughout the day, 830 WCCO spoke with mission residents and alumni, as well as volunteers of the mission, all sharing stories about the impact UGMTC has had on their lives.

Founded in 1902, Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities is a Christian ministry dedicated to serving people facing homelessness, poverty, or addiction in our community. By meeting physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs, the mission’s goal is not just to provide a meal, but to help change lives.
