S-F Radio: Mark Willard Added To KGMZ Revamped Line-Up

Mark Willard joins KGMZ 95.7 The Game after a 2 ½ year run at KNBR in his native San Francisco. He'll be joined by Dan Dibley every Monday-Friday, 9AM-12PM.

Mark Willard has been on the radio and television airwaves throughout California and nationally since 2001. He also currently serves as a studio host for Pac 12 Network and hosts the Inside Giant Moments Podcast. This all follows a successful stint doing weekdays Noon-3 on the Mark & Rich Show on XTRA 1360 Fox Sports San Diego and nationwide on Fox Sports Radio weekends. Willard came to Fox after 6 years with ESPN LA, hosting his own weekday slot along with former Laker Mychal Thompson. Willard was also the host of the weekly ESPNLA.com show, “The Forum.”

Willard’s career began as a play by play announcer.  After a year calling football, basketball and baseball games for his alma mater Cal Poly SLO, he spent 2 seasons with the Boise Hawks Single A baseball club in the Angels organization.

In 1999 Willard moved toward talk radio, spending 2 successful years in the San Francisco Bay Area, followed by 1 year with XTRA Sports 690 in San Diego.  Those ventures led to his move to Los Angeles in 2001 as an update anchor/reporter for 1540 The Ticket, part of the Sporting News Radio empire.  His 6+ years with that company were highlighted as a co-host of the Roger Lodge Ticket Morning Show locally for 3 years, and co-host of the nationally syndicated Tony Bruno Show for 2 years.

In 2010, Willard was hired as the main face of a new venture on Foxsports.com called The Fox Sports Flash.  The website created a fast paced, 2 minute, on-camera update each hour.  Willard wrote and delivered the pieces each morning.

Willard’s TV career has blossomed, having appeared as the lead fill-in host of SportsNation on ESPN2.  He currently appears as a frequent guest on NBC’s Going Roggin, Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s Top 10 and Fox 11’s Sports Report.  Willard has also appeared on The Golf Channel, NBA TV, Fuel TV, & ESPNLA.com. He is also an accomplished voiceover artist.
