Charlotte Radio: WBT, Panthers Extend Broadcast Partnership

Entercom and the NFL Carolina Panthers today announced a new multi-year broadcast partnership extension. As part of the agreement, Charlotte station News Talk WBT 1110 AM will continue to serve as the exclusive flagship home of the Carolina Panthers. Sister station Sports WFNZ 610 AM will provide promotional support.

“We are thrilled and excited to continue this valued partnership with the Carolina Panthers,” said Matthew Hanlon, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Charlotte. “Since the team’s inception, fans have needed a place to turn to for exceptional coverage of the Panthers and I’m proud WBT is given the opportunity to be that voice.”

“Since 2005, WBT has been our flagship radio station and we look forward to continuing this long-standing partnership,” said Tom Glick, President, Carolina Panthers. “WBT and WFNZ play important roles on game days and throughout the football season, ensuring that Panthers fans have access to local radio coverage of our team’s impact both on the field and in the community.”

As part of the partnership extension, Panthers legends Steve Smith Sr., Damione Lewis and Muhsin Muhammad will contribute to WFNZ segments. News Talk 1110 WBT will continue to carry all Panthers game broadcasts with Mick Mixon and Jim Szoke providing play-by-play coverage. In addition, the agreement includes the continuation of pregame and postgame shows, including “The Coaches Show” on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET.
