Lori Lewis |
Appropriately, InsideRadio notes Lewis broke the news via social media in posts on Facebook and LinkedIn Monday morning, with a photo of herself signing her release from the company. “It’s important to push ourselves out of our comfort zones from time to time and learn what else we are capable of,” Lewis wrote. “I cannot wait to share this next phase of life with you.”
Co-workers learned of the news via an internal company announcement on Friday. Her final day with Cumulus will be on or before Sept. 14.
In May 2015 Cumulus became one of the first companies to appoint a top-level executive specifically focused on social media, reporting directly to then-CEO Lew Dickey. Based in Detroit, Lewis worked with the broadcaster’s programming and sales teams to develop social media strategies, and worked with Westwood One on similar efforts.
Before joining Cumulus, Lewis worked at the media consulting firm Jacobs Media, where she served as director of digital and social strategy for four years. Prior to that, she was multimedia content manager for Midwest Communications, after more than a decade as an on-air personality and programmer.
In addition to her work with Cumulus, Lewis has been instrumental in rejuvenating The Conclave Leaning Conference as chairperson of the nonprofit for the past nearly four years.
