Harrisburg Radio: EMF To Acquire Rocker WTPA

'The Rock Of Central PA' WTPA is being sold and will soon be airing contemporary Christian music.

Owner Patrick Sickafus (aka Pat Garrett) has announced he is selling WTPA 92.1 FM to Education Media Foundation for $700K. 

He purchased the station in 2013 for $530K.  At that time, the station had been placed in a a trust as the result of the Citadel-Cumulus merger.

EMF will be placing it's K-Love format on 92.1 FM, which will improve coverage over its current translators at 88.5 and 101.7 FM

Sickafus also owns Classic Country WWSM 1510  AM in the market.

WTPA's rock format previously aired on 93.5 FM.  In 2011, to gain clearance of its purchase of Citadel Communications, Cumulus moved the intellectual property of WTPA to the 92.1 signal and placed the station in a trust named Potential Broadcasting.
