Westwood One CEO Charles Steinhauer Gets New Deal

Charles Steinhauer
Cumulus today announced a multi-year contract renewal with Westwood One Chief Operating Officer, Charles Steinhauer.

Under the new agreement, Steinhauer will continue to oversee the management of Westwood One’s day-to-day operations, including programming, technology, distribution, sports, marketing, affiliate services, research, compliance and strategy, and will report directly to Lew Dickey, Chief Executive Officer for Cumulus.

Steinhauer was previously President of Operations for Dial Global, before his promotion last June to Chief Operating Officer for the company. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Research and Operations for Dial Global. Cumulus acquired Dial Global, Inc. in December of last year, creating Westwood One, a leading network of high quality audio content serving approximately 9,100 radio stations worldwide.

In addition to his role at Westwood One, Steinhauer serves as a Director on the Board of the Media Ratings Council and was Chair of the Network Radio Research Council (NRRC). He is also an ARF Ambassador, a member of the RAB Council, and serves on the Nielsen Advisory Board.

Lew Dickey, Chief Executive Officer for Cumulus said: “Charles is an exceptional talent and a key member of our executive leadership team.  We’re excited to extend his contract and look forward to his important contribution as we build Westwood One into the world’s leading audio content company.”

Steinhauer said: "It’s most gratifying to have this opportunity to continue building great value for our affiliate partners, listeners and advertisers. I’m thrilled to continue working with Lew and John Dickey, Steve Shaw and the entire Westwood One team, along with our incredible content and distribution partners as together, we connect audiences with the very best in sports, music, news, spoken word and digital content. There’s never been a more exciting time for Westwood One, and I’m proud and excited to be a part of it.”
