Peter Boyles |
Employees observed red marks on producer Greg Hollenback's
neck within the minutes of the argument, which happened during Thursday
morning's broadcast of the Peter Boyles Show.
The sources wished to remain anonymous because they were not
authorized to speak on the matter.
"Everyone here is disappointed and devastated,"
one employee told 9NEWS.
Reached for comment Thursday morning, Boyles told 9NEWS only
that he "had a very heated exchange" with Hollenback.
Boyles and Hollenback have worked together for about two
decades.
A source inside KHOW tells 9NEWS the incident has been
elevated to the corporate level. KHOW management declined to comment, saying
the incident is a "personnel matter."
Although he will be off the air Friday, managers would not
say whether Boyles was suspended.
If this was a left wing radio host, all of the right wing nut job hosts (Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity) would be all over it making up lies based on the lies of the others.
ReplyDeleteKHOW's morning ratings have cratered. Unless they bought Pete out and got a non-compete, he'll be back on another station and kick KHOW's ass.
ReplyDeleteI have been a Boyles listener for some time. There must be rumors regarding the them or subject of the argument. So far, I have not seen any comment, speculative or otherwise. .
ReplyDeleteMY only comment is that I often disagreed with Boyles, but found HIS comments, often backed up by his extensive and comprehensive reading, to be thought provoking and challenging.
ReplyDeleteI have been able to find out nothing about the Boyles-Hollanbeck argument, speculative, rumored, or what have you. Can someone publish even a guess as to what this was all about???
Hollanbeck, the "Sheik", who is now featured on his own, Clear-Channel show, talking with giggling, boy-crazy, bratty debutants is a mosquito compared to a monolithic Boyles.
Somebody, even if via the rumor mill, please tell me what you think this argument was about!!!
