jacapps announced that its V4 platform for iPhone and Android mobile applications has been certified by Nielsen making it one of the first mobile developers to embed the Nielsen digital audio measurement system. The advancement will enable broadcasters to generate measurement data congruent with Nielsen's on-air ratings, thus increasing the value of mobile streaming.
"This is a great leap forward for the radio industry," jacapps President, Paul Jacobs said. "Until today, program directors have been reluctant to heavily promote their mobile app for fear of losing listening credit. Now mobile streaming data will be additive for broadcasters and will help them showcase expanded reach, and help advertisers better connect with consumers. We are proud to have worked closely with Nielsen on this process and look forward to having our clients benefit from this advancement."
"With its certification, jacapps will now be able to help its radio broadcasting clients more effectively quantify the size and nature of their listening audience across broadcast and digital platforms," said Matt O'Grady, EVP, Managing Director, Nielsen. "That's a great benefit for their clients who will now have a fully integrated picture of the audio marketplace."
jacapps Chief Operating Officer Bob Kernen commented, "The Nielsen digital audio audience measurement system will be available to any Nielsen subscribers on the jacapps' V4 platform for iPhone and Android mobile devices, the most flexible mobile platform developed for broadcasters. Designed to enable broadcasters to reclaim listening occasions, the platform enables broadcasters to customize the design of their application and customize functions and features." Interested clients should reach out to their Nielsen representative to take part in the digital audio measurement service.
