Grand Rapids Radio: WLAV-FM's Tony Gates Honored

Grand Rapids, MI, Mayor George Heartwell has recognized WLAV 96.9 FM 97 morning show host Tony Gates on the success of Thursday's Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger Food Drive, now in its 15th year at the Ultimate Sport Show.

Gates has spearheaded the Food Drivethe last 15 years, which is one of the largest one-day drives in the State of Michigan. Volunteers from area sportsmen's clubs collected several tons of food this year from thousands of donors.

WLAV-FM has averaged almost 2000 bags of groceries every year and delivered over 120,000 lbs. of food to Grand Rapids area food banks and kitchens.

    I have been a faithful listener to WLAV for at LEAST the last 20 years, and they never disappoint! LAV is the ONLY station you need.Good Mix of tunes that even us OLD FARTS still listen to!
