Portland OR Radio: iHeartMedia Launches 'Tailgate Country'

iHeartMedia/Portland Monday announced the launching of "The All New Tailgate Country 103-7" on a 99-watt flamethrowing translator FM.

The new country format is currently airing commercial free on K279BO 103.7 T-FM and is fed via KFBW 105.9 FM-HD3.

"Tailgate Country features the hottest contemporary Country artists and no commercials," said Brad Hardin, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia. "It's the perfect station for crankin' up while sitting on your tailgate and watching The Ducks pull out another win. No-one in Portland is playing more Country music than The New Tailgate Country."

If the station sticks with no-commercials, the strategy obviously is to shave some ratings from Entercom’s “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ and Alpha’s “98.7 The Bull” KUPL.
