Kris Kelley |
After just about a year in the position
pd Kris Kelley, a 15-year-old employee of CCM+E, has left the
building that houses Urban WGCI 107.5 FM and Top40 WKSC 103.5 FM.
CRM notes, Kelley first came to Chicago
in March 2007, joining WGCI-FM as Program Director and part-time
on-air personality. Early on in her time here, Kelley was the Program
Director that fired top-rated morning show host Crazy Howard McGee,
replacing him with syndicated programming, which ended up with far
lower ratings and revenue. Two years later, her role was reduced to
Assistant Program Director at WGCI-FM and she was given an on-air
role at WVAZ-FM/V103, taking over the popular midday shift.
At the end of October of last year,
Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Chicago proudly announced that
Kris Kelley had been given the role of double Program Director,
overseeing both WGCI-FM and WKSC-FM/103.5 Kiss FM.
No public reason has been given for the
abrupt exit of Kelley. A spokesperson for the company wished her well.
Prior to coming to Chicago in 2007,
Kelley worked as a midday DJ and Assistant Program Director/Music
Director at WJLB-FM in Detroit, MI from 1998-2007.
