According to the Austin Business-Journal, those words come from longtime Austin radio personality JB Hager, who was let go from his morning show position at KAMX Mix 94.7 FM on Nov. 25 when the station’s management opted not to renew his contract after nearly 18 years on the air. Since the departure Hager said he’s been “glued to the phone” with his agent and said a deal for a new show could be announced very soon.
Hager couldn’t discuss details of the new project because it’s still being negotiated, but a post on his Facebook page suggests he and longtime cohost Sandy McIlree — who has indicated he won’t return to 94.7 once his contract is up — could become the morning show for a new local radio station.
While that situation plays out Hager is continuing his outside projects with business partner.
