Radio boss Mark Dorsey is messing with Texas ,
but only because he thinks Texas
messed with us first.
According to stltoday.com, Dorsey, general manager at KTRS
550 AM, has pulled radio commercials voiced by Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who talks
about why Missouri businesses would be better
off moving to Texas .
Dorsey has issued his own audio statement. Click Here to listen.
"When the order was placed, KTRS was under the
assumption these commercials were going to promote tourism to Texas ," Dorsey's clip states.
"Once we, the management of KTRS, realized these
commercials were instead focused on stealing locally owned companies away from St Louis , we suspended
airing these commercials immediately," he said.
Perry's radio ads tout his state’s secure corporate climate,
and criticizes Missouri
Democratic leadership. Perry is set to visit Missouri
next week and his business ads are running on radio and television in St. Louis , Springfield , Columbia , Joplin and Kansas City .
In Perry's ad, he says, "Unfortunately, your governor
vetoed a bill that would have lowered taxes and controlled wasteful
spending," Perry says in the ad. "But there is a state where
businesses flourish and jobs are created: Texas ."
Similar commercials aired in February in California.
