Miley Cyrus has grown up, and the way she relayed that
information, via the MTV Video Music Awards, had everyone talking.
Cyrus and Robin Thicke didn't win awards Sunday night, but
their provocative collaboration on "Blurred Lines" caused jaws to
drop.
Cyrus, Thicke, Lady Gaga (who opened the show) and Justin
Timberlake (who reunited with 'N Sync) all helped the show bring in 10.1
million viewers. That audience was 66 percent bigger than last year's awards
fest, according to Hal Boedeker at The Orlando Sentinel.
According to Twitter, the "We Can't Stop" and
"Blurred Lines" medley with Cyrus and Thicke garnered 306,100 Tweets
per minute during the East Coast airing of the show. To compare, last year's
VMAs had a peak of 98,307 Tweets per minute, whereas the Presidential election night
last year saw a Tweets per minute peak of 327,452.
