Fox News host Harris Faulkner has been fiercely competitive with ABC’s “The View” in 2025 ratings, despite her show, “The Faulkner Focus,” reaching fewer households. Faulkner credits her success to her commitment to “telling the truth” and presenting diverse perspectives, resonating with viewers seeking an alternative to the network panel show.Since January 2025, “The Faulkner Focus” has averaged 2.3 million viewers per Nielsen ratings, closely trailing The View’s 2.5 million.
In January, during President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Faulkner’s 11:00 a.m. EDT program occasionally surpassed the ABC show, which features hosts like Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sunny Hostin.
In an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation, Faulkner attributed her edge to delivering what viewers crave at that hour, which she believes “The View” lacks.
“At 11:00 a.m., people want three things: the latest on major stories, breaking news on emerging issues, and straight facts,” Faulkner stated.
She also criticized media outlets for fixating on political conflicts and lawmakers while ignoring everyday concerns. “What about the people at home with their families? I’m a mom with high school kids, including a senior preparing for college. I’ve lived through the pandemic’s challenges,” Faulkner said. “I understand what it takes to prepare kids for life. When I watch ‘The View,’ I don’t see the perspective of the real stakeholders in a story.”
Faulkner, a mass communications graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara, has been a Fox News staple since 2005. She has hosted “The Faulkner Focus” since January 2021, co-hosted “Outnumbered” since its 2014 debut, and led “Outnumbered Overtime” from 2017 to May 2021. Her passion for understanding how people connect, inspired by her parents, drives her approach to broadcasting.
