TX Radio: Driver Charged In Death of Lubbock Personality Amy O

Lubbock Personality Amy O Killed

The San Antonio Police Department arrested 48-year-old Steve Nerio on Sunday after he was accused of being intoxicated while driving a motorcycle that was involved in a crash that killed Lubbock radio personality Amy Lee Garza.

Garza, a passenger on the motorcycle being driven by Nerio, was thrown off the back of it after it collided with a car on Highway 90. Garza suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

EverythingLubbock.com’s CBS affiliate in San Antonio obtained an arrest report that said Nerio claimed he was sideswiped by a large red truck. However, the video showed Nerio making an “illegal maneuver” to get onto the highway and ultimately crashing into a red tow truck.

According to online jail records, Nerio was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and held on a $150,000 bond.
