Taylor Swift Breaks Spotify Record

On October 27, Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history, thanks to the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Digital Music News reports the album also became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day for 2023 so far, netting the pop star two new Spotify records. So who did she replace? Why, herself! Swift captured the title on October 21, 2022 and has held onto it, racking up a new high score with this album release.

Songs from her album flooded the Spotify charts, with “Slut!” debuting at #1 in the US and “Style (Taylor’s Version)” debuting at #1 globally. The pop star is enjoying a massive amount of success thanks to her Eras Tour, which has propelled her net worth over the $1 billion mark.

Bloomberg estimates that tour has generated around $700 million in ticket sales for the shows performed so far, with the 53 shows contributing $4.3 billion to the nation’s GDP. And there are still 89 stops left to make on that sold-out show.

Part of what has helped cement the success is the release of the Eras concert film in partnership with AMC Theatres. The film version of the concert is nearing $200 million at the global box office, following its $100 million opening weekend.

The Taylor Swift net worth analysis conducted by Bloomberg is on the conservative end, based on assets and earnings that could be confirmed or traced. The figure includes the estimated value of her music catalog, her five homes, earnings from streaming deals, music sales, concert tickets, and merchandising at live events. Those estimates also account for the massive expenses involved in supporting the tour including taxes, tour production, travel costs, and commissions for agents and managers.
