It’s the most wonderful time of the year to stream Amy Grant music.
Nashville’s queen of Christmas music celebrated a career milestone Monday night at the Ryman Auditorium: One billion song streams across all digital platforms.
The Tenneassean reports the famed Christian performer — known during the holiday season for her rich Christmas catalog and accompanying holiday shows — celebrated the milestone ahead of a seasonal performance at the Ryman with husband Vince Gill.
“It takes a team to do anything, and I think, especially as the years go on, I’m just so grateful to have been surrounded by an incredible team,” Grant said at the event. “It’s just been such amazing teamwork. I hope that anybody who had anything to do with any of those records feels a part of that."
“I can’t wrap my head around that number," the six-time Grammy Award-winning artist added.
Grant has sold an estimated 30 million albums worldwide, including five million holiday albums, said Peter York, Capitol Christian CEO. Her music reached 77 million streams across Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music and additional streaming services in 2018 — a number York said Grant should easily surpass in 2019.
Grant’s deep catalog of Christmas music comes highlighted by 1992’s triple Platinum-selling “Home For Christmas,” which features the likes of “Winter Wonderland,” "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," “O Come All Ye Faithful” and original number “Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song).”
In 2016, Grant released "Tennessee Christmas," her first new holiday album in two decades. The album, recorded at her Nashville home, included a new rendition of the title track, which debuted on her 1983 holiday effort.
