Lopez, a host on the syndicated TV magazine show 'Extra' and an iHeartRadio host who also airs in several iHM's local markets, and Owens criticized parents like actress Charlize Theron, who recently shared that she is raising her 7-year-old adopted child as a girl based on her request.
Owens referred to raising transgender kids as a “weird trend” and “scary,” to which Lopez agreed calling it “dangerous” and “alarming."
Lopez said: “My God, if you’re 3 years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, and think you’re a boy or a girl, or whatever the case may be... I think it’s dangerous, as a parent, to make that determination."
Lopez, 45, has three children with wife Courtney: Gia Francesca, 8½, Dominic Luciano, 5½, and Santino Rafael, 3 weeks.
Lopez also called out Hollywood for what he calls its lack of tolerance for different opinions.
Lopez said: [“I think we’ve become now, Hollywood and as a society, incredibly afraid to offend. And increidlby politically correct. And for a creative community I think that’s very dangerous and it limits you.
Brown took to Twitter, writing:

Brown sent a follow-up, saying Lopez’s career shouldn’t end over his comments. “I don’t think @MarioLopezExtra should be ‘canceled’. But I do believe he should be given the opportunity to learn why his comments are harmful to trans youth and their parents. Mario, I’m ready to talk when you are.”
After the blowback, Lopez walked his comments back in a statement: “The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were. I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful.”
While several prominent activists and celebs took Lopez to task over his comments, others said he did “nothing wrong” and that his comments were being taken “out of context.”

“The company has investigated the claims made into Mr. Calloway’s conduct and he and the company have mutually agreed to part ways,” a Warners rep says in a statement. The studio didn’t clarify in the statement when the decision was made.
Warner Bros. had previously suspended Calloway last February.
