Portland OR Radio: Brian Shannon To Join KGON As Morning Co-Host

Entercom has announced Brian Shannon as the morning show co-host for KGON 92.3 FM, Portland’s Only True Classic Rock Station and Iconic Lifestyle Brand.

Shannon will join Terry Boyd on “Terry Boyd’s World,” weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. PT, effective July 8.

“Brian’s outstanding comedic talents and timing will combine with Terry’s tremendous market equity to give Portland its most unique, entertaining and compelling morning show in years,” said Kim Martinez, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Portland. “The instant chemistry between Brian and Terry was astounding. The timing is right and the market is ready for someone who can add fuel to the fire that is ‘Terry Boyd’s World.’”

“I am incredibly excited to be going home to radio and to be working alongside one of Portland’s best, Terry Boyd,” said Shannon. “Radio is my happy place and I’m planning to be a part of this station and this city for a long time.”

Shannon is a well-seasoned radio veteran with over 30 years of experience. Prior to joining Entercom, Shannon served as an editor and anchor for News 92 FM in Houston. He held various on-air roles for KFNC in Houston, KEGL-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth and KLOL-FM (now Houston sister station Mega 101 FM), where he was a longtime member of the “Stevens & Pruett” show. On KEGL-FM, Shannon was producer and voice of co-host Eddie “The Boner Sanchez.”
