Portland OR Radio: Alpha Media Extends Deal With Lars Larson

Alpha Media/Portland, OR, has signd talk host Lars Larson to a multi-year contract extension through 2024.

"The Lars Larson Show" airs weekdays from 12-4pm on News KXL 101 FM and 21 Pacific Northwest stations through Alpha Media's Radio Northwest Network. With this new extension, Larson currently holds multi-year contracts with both Compass Media Networks and Alpha Media.

"With the biggest local talk radio audience in the region, The Lars Larson Show reaches more than three and half million listeners," explained Senior VP/Market Manager Lisa Decker. "All of us at Alpha Media Portland, our listeners and our advertisers are excited to extend our relationship with Lars for the next five years."

"I'm thrilled to renew my relationship with a station I've been with through half a dozen Presidents, a dozen NW Governors, a live volcano eruption and more than 25 years as a reporter, anchor and now talk host," added Larson. "When I first started in radio 44 years ago, we still played (on 45s believe it or not) Zager & Evans' ‘In the year 2025.' Now, I get the opportunity to work with KXL at least until then - and maybe a whole lot longer."

The national Lars Larson Show, syndicated by Compass Media Networks, launched in September, 2003 and airs on 125 affiliates across the country.
