Baltimore Radio: WWMX Radiothon Raises $1.3M+ for Children's Center

Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., raised over $1.3 million to benefit Johns Hopkins Children’s Center through “Mix 106.5’s 30th Annual Radiothon” in Baltimore. This year’s WWMX Mix 106.5 fundraiser set a new record in total donations over two days, bringing the total amount donated through Mix 106.5’s Radiothon to more than $23 million.

“It is quite the accomplishment to reach 30 years of the Mix 106.5 Radiothon and we are so proud of the incredible impact that this will have on so many families in our region,” said Tracy Brandys, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Baltimore. “It is a privilege to stand behind the invaluable work Johns Hopkins Children’s Center does day in and day out, and it is touching to see our generous listeners sharing the same outlook as well.”

"We are honored to have such a wonderful collaboration with Mix 106.5,” said Tina Cheng, Co-Director, Johns Hopkins Children's Center. “For thirty years, our friends at the radio station have helped capture the world of Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and brought it to listeners throughout Baltimore and beyond.”

“Mix 106.5’s Radiothon is the longest-running Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Radiothon in the country, and we are grateful for the radio station's steadfast support and commitment to helping our kids,” said David Hackam, Co-Director, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

“Mix 106.5’s 30th Annual Radiothon” was broadcast live from Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, in Baltimore on Thursday, February 21 and Friday, February 22 from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET each day. Mix 106.5 morning show duo Reagan and Bethany, midday drive host Maria Dennis and afternoon host Priestly hosted the event. Donations were accepted via call-in to the Calvert Hall Miracle Line, online and via text message. Additional fundraising was done through corporate partnerships, sponsorships, a phone-a-thon and JHCC employee giving campaign prior to the radiothon.
