San Diego Radio: AM 760 KFMB Raises $1.1M+ For Warrior Foundation

KFMB 760 AM collected over $1,000,000 during their annual radiothon fundraiser to benefit the Warrior Foundation/Freedom Station, a San Diego charity helps veterans recover both physically and mentally from service injuries.

The funds raised enabled the Warrior Foundation/Freedom Station to purchase airline tickets for injured military veterans, so they can spend the holidays at home with their families. During the month of December AM 760 encourages listeners to donate on-line with the highlight of the campaign happening on December 8th when the station conducts the annual “radiothon”, a full day of phone and on-line donations. The current total collected for the entire month of December was $1,107,245.00.

“I’ve never seen such an overwhelming response like this before” said Sandy Lehmkuler, president and founder of the organization. “Our heartfelt thanks to AM 760 for their continued support of our troops.”

“We are honored to tell the story of the amazing work the Warrior Foundation/Freedom Station does here in San Diego” said KFMB-AM Director of Programming Dave Sniff. “Our listeners hear the message, they want to help they and generously donate to this worthy cause.”

In addition to providing holiday transportation for injured veterans the funds raised will help build Freedom Station 2, a multi-unit housing facility that assists injured veterans transition to civilian life.
