The Sacramento Kings announced a five-year extension with KHTK 1140 AM to serve as the franchise’s exclusive radio rights holder through the 2020-21 NBA season.
KHTK 1140 AM, the sports arm of CBS Sacramento, has been the radio rights holder of the Kings since the station’s inception in 1994. The agreement includes all preseason and regular season games, as well as the team’s official pregame and postgame show and weekly call-in show, Kings Talk.
“We are committed to providing our fans with an unparalleled experience,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “We’re excited to extend our partnership with KHTK because they share our passion for the Sacramento region and Kings fans.”
The 50,000-watt station has broadcast over 1,800 Kings games in its 20-year existence. The new deal continues the existing coverage while introducing a new feature on the Kings mobile app, which enables fans within a 75-mile radius of the arena to listen to home and away games.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the Sacramento Kings,” said CBS Senior Vice President/Market Manager Steve Cottingim. “We pride ourselves on providing Kings fans with expert analysis, entertaining content and a voice that represents both a franchise on the rise and the most passionate fan base in professional sports.”
