Wife Of Weezer Bassist Shot By L-A Officers

Scott Shriner and wife Jillian Lauren

Jillian Lauren, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by police in Los Angeles Wednesday night.

According to reports, Lauren was shot following a high-speed chase that began when officers attempted to pull her over around 11:30 PM. The pursuit started after she allegedly refused to stop, driving a Mercedes sedan through the San Fernando Valley.

The chase escalated when Lauren reportedly crashed into a police vehicle in Sherman Oaks, prompting officers to open fire, striking her in the shoulder.

She was subsequently hospitalized, treated, and booked on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and evading police, with authorities later indicating that attempted murder charges could be considered due to the nature of the incident.

The situation reportedly stemmed from a domestic disturbance call earlier that evening at the couple’s Eagle Rock home, where Lauren allegedly threatened Shriner with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement sources noted that the Los Angeles Police Department’s Force Investigation Division is reviewing the officer-involved shooting, a standard procedure in such cases.

Meanwhile, Shriner, a longtime member of Weezer since 2001, has not publicly commented on the event as of the latest updates. Lauren, an author known for works like Some Girls: My Life in a Harem, and Shriner have been married since 2005 and have two adopted children together.
