On Saturday, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) held its annual Broadcast Excellence Awards at the Sound Board inside MotorCity Casino Hotel. WJR 760 AM was honored as the Market One Station of The Year, marking a significant achievement for the station.
In accepting the award, WJR Program Director Ann Thomas expressed her appreciation, saying, “I would like to sum up this award with one word. Gratitude. Gratitude to the MAB, gratitude to Marie Osborne and her team for helping us put these together, and gratitude to the best team in radio at WJR. The Great Voice of The Great Lakes.”
In addition to the Station of The Year award, WJR received three other notable awards during the ceremony, including Best Regularly Scheduled Broadcast Personality or Team for “’JR Afternoon with Chris Renwick,” as well as Best Commercial and overall Digital Excellence.
Previous to the ceremony, The MAB awarded WJR with an additional 18 awards, bringing the station’s total wins for 2025 to 24.
