MSNBC has recently appointed Madeleine Haeringer as its new Senior Vice President of Digital, Audio, and Longform.
Haeringer, a seasoned media professional with over two decades of experience, is returning to MSNBC after a notable tenure at NBC News and a stint at Crooked Media. She officially assumes her role on May 7, 2025, reporting directly to MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler, as the network seeks to bolster its digital presence and adapt to an evolving media landscape.

In her new role at MSNBC, Haeringer will oversee MSNBC.com, the network’s social publishing efforts, audio offerings—including podcasts that saw over 12 million downloads in the past year—and longform projects. She’ll collaborate with key team leaders like Meredith Bennett-Smith, Brad Gold, Aisha Turner, and Alisha Conley to drive innovation across these platforms. This hire comes as MSNBC navigates a transformative period, including its impending spinoff from NBCUniversal into a standalone entity under Comcast, alongside efforts to expand its independent newsgathering operation with plans to hire over 100 journalists.
Haeringer’s appointment reflects MSNBC’s strategic push to strengthen its digital footprint amid declining traditional cable viewership and competition from online platforms. The network has seen success online, with MSNBC.com reaching 36 million unique visitors and 864 million minutes of engagement recently, per internal metrics.
