Broadcasters Foundation Debuts Media Mixer in LA


More than 100 broadcasters, from CEO’s to those just entering the business, turned out for The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) first Los Angeles Media Mixer, held last Wednesday, October 23rd, at the NBC4 Lot.

Co-hosts for the event were Colleen Williams, NBC4 News Anchor, and Valentine, host of Valentine In The Morning on iHeart’s 104.3 MYFM. Spencer Sutherland entertained attendees with an amazing performance of his new single, Drama!

Scott McCarthy, President, Workhouse Sports; Tim Howick, Vice President, Marketing and Brand, NBC4 Los Angeles; Iris Arvizu, Research Director, Sales & Marketing, Telemundo Los Angeles; Tim McCarthy, President, Broadcasters Foundation of America; Lizette Carbajal, Vice President, Community Relations & Communications, Telemundo 52 and NBC4; and Fatima Goncalves, Vice President, Marketing & Programming, Telemundo Los Angeles.

 The BFOA Media Mixers give up-and-coming professionals in broadcasting unprecedented access to talent, managers, and executives and to bring awareness of the mission of the Broadcasters Foundation to those that are new to the industry. Media Mixers are always free thanks to the support of sponsors from the broadcasting industry. The LA Media Mixer was sponsored by NBCUniversal Local and the California Broadcasters Association.

The BFOA Media Mixers serve a three-pronged purpose:to celebrate the camaraderie and connection within the broadcast community; to mix and mingle with peers, on-air talent, and industry executives; and to increase awareness of the Broadcasters Foundation charitable mission to junior-level broadcast professionals.
