During the week of April 8-14, FOX News Channel (FNC) was the top network in all of cable with both primetime and total day viewers, once again securing the number one spot as the NCAA tournaments came to a close.
Notably, FNC outpaced CNN and MSNBC combined with viewers, A25-54 and A18-49 for the week. In primetime (8-11 PM/ET), FNC earned 2.1 million viewers and 247,000 A25-54, commanding all of cable with viewers. In total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.3 million viewers and 167,000 in the 25-54 demo, outpacing all of cable with viewers. FNC also saw week-over-week gains across primetime and total day.
This also marked the 165th consecutive week that FNC has finished first in all of cable news with total day viewers. Notably, the network posted 79 of the top 100 cable news telecasts for the week.
- FNC secured 2.1 million viewers in primetime on Saturday during breaking news coverage of the Iranian drone strikes in Israel, marking its most-watched Saturday night since March 2022.
- FNC was also the most-watched network during coverage of the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th averaging 2.1 million viewers from 1-4 PM/ET.
- The Five averaged nearly 3 million viewers and 269,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched show in cable news. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2 million viewers and 192,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle at 7 PM/ET scored 2 million viewers and 203,000 in the 25-54 demo.
- At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime was the most-watched primetime program in cable news, delivering 2.6 million viewers and 252,000 in the 25-54 demo.
- At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.2 million viewers and 239,000 with A25-54.
- At 10 PM/ET, FNC’s late-night offering Gutfeld! averaged 2,059,000 viewers and 304,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched cable news program in the younger demo. Gutfeld! topped all of the broadcast competition with viewers outpacing CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (1,848,000 P2+), ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1,521,000 P2+) and NBC’s The Tonight Show (1,318,000 P2+).
FNC’s daytime lineup continued to surpass broadcast programs.
- Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,548,000 P2+), The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,523,000 P2+) leading ABC’s GMA3 (1,518,000 P2+).
- America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,512,000 P2+),
- The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,474,000 P2+)
- America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,462,000 P2+) all beat NBC’s Today with Hoda and Jenna (1,397,000 P2+), CBS’ The Talk (1,222,000 P2+) and NBC News Daily (1,115,000 P2+).
On Saturday, during primetime breaking news coverage of the Iranian drone strikes in Israel FNC averaged 2.1 million viewers and 277,000 in 25-54 demo leading cable news combined with viewers. The marked FNC’s most-watched primetime on Saturday since March 2022. FNC also commanded more than 50% of the cable news share in both total day and primetime.
Other highlights:
At 7 PM/ET, The Big Weekend Show secured over 2.1 million viewers and 278,000 in the 25-54 demo.
- One Nation with Brian Kilmeade, which featured live breaking news coverage at 10 PM/ET was the top show of the day in the 25-54 demo with 279,000 viewers.
- On Sunday, Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday, 10 AM/ET) was the top show of the day with 1,722,000 viewers and 217,000 in the 25-54 demo. In primetime, Life, Liberty & Levin (Sunday, 8 PM/ET) was most-watched with 1,478,000 viewers.
- MediaBuzz (Sunday, 11 AM/ET) secured 1,295,000 viewers and 150,000 in the 25-54 demo.
