CNN is slated to hold a live town hall event this week featuring a discussion with parents and students from the Florida high school where a gunman killed 17 students and staff members.
The Hill reports the cable channel announced Saturday it will air "Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action" on Wednesday, Feb. 21, following calls from students demanding that lawmakers take legislative action to prevent future mass shootings.
Students from the Parkland, Fla., high school expressed outrage toward GOP lawmakers for expressing condolences to those affected by the shooting, and heaped on criticism for Rubio and others who have cautioned against calls for increased gun control following the shooting.
The event will be moderated by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and will air at 9 p.m. E.T.
