Forever Media is adding some properties in Southern Pennsylvania by acquiring two locally-owned station in the York-Hanover market.
They are Classic Hits WYCR 98.5 FM The Peak and Classic Country WHVR 1280 AM. The deal is said to be worth $2.6M, along with a $400K non-compete and consulting contract.
The principals in Forever Broadcasting, which is based in Hollidaysburg PA, include: Carol Logan, Kerby E. Confer and Lynn Deppen. Forever recently closed on stations in Cumberland, MD and nearby Gettysburg PA. The company also owns stations in Altoona, Johnstown, Meadville/Franklin, News Castle and State College, all PA.
All of the employees of the stations will be terminated upon closing of the deal, but are to be offered at-will employment with Forever.
Confer's daughter Kristen Cantrell is a principal in Seven Mountains Broadcasting, which has recently acquired stations in State College, Lewistown-Huntindon, Bellefonte and in the Selinsgrove-Sunbury market, all PA.
