Salem Media Group announced Monday that it has extended the contract of talk show host Mike Gallagher through the end of 2018. Mike will continue to entertain and inform his listeners in the 9am to Noon ET time slot, on over 300 stations.
"After 15 years with Salem, I'm still amazed at how fortunate I am to have a radio home at this amazing company," said Gallagher. "I'm ecstatic and humbled to be continuing for at least another three years with this world-class organization."
Gallagher's talent was first apparent when he became the highest rated host in Greenville, South Carolina on the heritage WFBC, and then on the legendary WGY in Albany where he came to the attention of WABC, New York programmer Phil Boyce, who brought him to New York as the morning guy in 1996. He left WABC in 2000 to become a syndicated national host, where he is now reunited with Boyce at the Salem Radio Network.
"Mike is one of the most talented, entertaining, and informative hosts in the country," said Boyce.
"What a pleasure it has been to be reunited with him at Salem, and be able to have a small part in the next generation of his talk show host career." Boyce supervises AM 970 The Answer in New York, where he brought in Gallagher in 2013, after his time on WABC and then WOR in the same market. Mike recently added AM 560 The Answer in Chicago to his list of stations.
Stations who are interested in syndicating the Mike Gallagher show should e-mail Tom Tradup at the Salem Radio Network in Dallas, at Ttradup@srnradio.com.
