Westwood One News Reaches Affiliate Milestone


Westwood One News, the award-winning, full-service news division of the largest audio network in the U.S., has a lot of news to report.

First, Westwood One News has signed a new agreement providing breaking news coverage on 45 Cox Media Group music stations in Atlanta, Houston, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, San Antonio, and other markets.

Second, WWBA-AM/Tampa has just signed on as the network’s 900th affiliate.

Westwood One News is also proud to announce recently renewed affiliates WINS-AM/New York and KYW-AM/Philadelphia, while continuing to be heard on top market stations including WABC-AM/NY, WMAL-AM/Washington DC, WLS-AM/Chicago, KGO-AM/San Francisco, and WBAP-AM/Dallas. In addition to 900 broadcast radio stations, Westwood One News can also be heard across America on Bloomberg Radio and theSiriusXM POTUS and Progress channels.

Westwood One News continues to receive industry recognition, most recently being honored with its fourth consecutive Golden Mike Award, which it has won in each year of its existence. In addition, Westwood One News last year won the prestigious Sigma Delta Chi “Radio Breaking News Reporting Award” from The Society of Professional Journalists for its breaking news coverage of the Las Vegas concert shooting. Westwood One News was also honored with five awards from the New York Festivals, including a prestigious Gold Medal Award for its “Pain & Pride: Remembering Vietnam – 50 Years Later” news retrospective.
